Ford Focus I (1998-2005)

Car enthusiasts first saw the Ford Focus at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show. The Ford Focus proved that cars don't need a lot of power, a luxury badge or a huge price tag to have a great driving quality.

The new Ford Focus replaced the outgoing Ford Escort, so the manufacturers invested huge sums of money to make the Ford Focus successful. The distinctive car design, excellent engineering work and new equipment proved that even family cars can be a lot of fun to drive.

A large part of the car's success was due to the independent rear suspension "Control Blade", which combined the simple trailing arm and complex double-wishbone suspension with geometry. This gave the Ford Focus incredible agility, stability and driving comfort at an affordable price.

Ford Focus II (2005-2011)

The design of the first generation Ford Focus was quite controversial and not liked by everyone. However, with the second generation, the manufacturers made an effort to improve it and released a more conventional design, a more spacious interior, and a larger car overall.

The second generation Ford Focus was improved in almost every way possible. This model was built on the C1 platform, which increased its size, and thus increased the interior and trunk space.

Speaking of the exterior, the front headlights kept the "New Edge" design and triangle shape, but became smaller. This allowed more space for the grille, which widened (upward) and narrowed (sideways). Unlike most other compact cars on the market, this one had a profiled V-shaped hood.

The Ford Focus also did not forget about new technologies, featuring the "KeyFree" system, a front windshield that reflects sunlight, adaptive front lighting, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio control, and voice-activated climate control systems.

In 2005, a sporty Focus version - the ST - was released. This model developed 225 hp (168 kW), achieved 0-60 mph in 6.4 seconds, and had a top speed of 152 mph (245 km/h). It was powered by a 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbocharged engine.

  • Less precise and responsive handling compared to the first generation model

Although critics said the car lacked the precise and responsive handling of the first-generation model, despite everything, the Ford Focus was one of the most successful blue oval models.

Ford Focus III (2011–2018)

The third generation of Ford Focus was distinguished by a new elegant appearance reminiscent of the previously introduced Ford Fiesta. With this model, drivers were also offered a new "Ford Sync" information and entertainment technology system.

The new Focus design stood out from its predecessors with more subtle lines, new hexagonal radiator grilles, and a significantly more aerodynamic body. The interior of this Ford Focus was characterized by higher quality materials. New technological capabilities were also offered, such as a self-parking system, "Sync" connectivity, and "MyFord Touch" multimedia system.

Like its predecessors, the third generation Ford Focus was offered in hatchback, sedan, and wagon body types, and in 2013, the sporty Focus ST hatchback was added to the lineup, featuring a more aggressive design, six-speed manual transmission, and a 252-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

The debut of the fourth generation of Ford Focus symbolically marked the 20th anniversary of the Ford brand. The new Focus offers more space in the cabin, and its quality is almost the best in class. The extended wheelbase and redesigned cabin not only provide more space for passengers, but also increase the trunk capacity.

This model line is offered in three body types, including the "Active" - a higher and longer wheelbase model that follows the trend of city SUVs.

The fourth generation of Ford Focus debuted with the "Co-Pilot360" safety package, which includes driver assistance technologies such as autonomous emergency braking as standard equipment. Also, for the first time, the Focus was available with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
